In the first round of the Region XV playoffs, Hostos Women's Basketball, which made the cut for the first time in four years, takes to the road tonight at 6:00pm to battle Nassau Community College in Garden City (Long Island), New York. Maybe the third time will be a charm as Hostos plays Nassau for the third time this season. In the first contest, the Lady Caimans held the Lions to a slim five-point lead at half-time in Garden City. Five days ago in the Bronx in the second match-up, the Lady Caimans almost upset Nassau as Hostos overcame a 13-point half-time deficit to play hard-nosed defense and tie the game with just under five minutes in the game before just falling short. Sophomore guard Jackline Awosika and CUNY Athletics Conference Player of the Year Kristina Shcherban push to make history as the #8 seed Lady Caimans look to knock off #1 seed Nassau on the road.

If the Lady Caimans win, they will travel to Monroe Athletics Complex (MAC) in New Rochelle, New York for the semifinals of the Region XV playoffs on Friday, March 2nd.
